Database backup copies and other safety functions

It is very important to create a backup copy of database periodically. To create a backup copy go to FILE->Save database backup copy. You can save a backup copy on any disk on your computer - it is highly recommended to save backup copies on different disk than program AGENT.m6 preferably on a CD or a pendrive.

AGENT.m6  also creates backup copies automatically, they are saved in ARCHIVE folder - a subfolder of AGENT.m6 main folder. You can control options of automatic backup copies in left menu OPTIONS->Archives. Three options are available - create backup copy every time when program is being closed, once daily and do not create backup copies automatically.

Program creates backup copies in a monthly cycle - backup file name is based upon the day of a month eg. on the 1st of June program will create a backup file 1.bkp - this file will overwrite previous  file 1.bkp created on 1st of May. This is very safety  way of saving backup data, it creates a history of database in 30 files  and if needed gives possibility  to return 30 days back.

Creating a backup copy is different in NET version.

Users of NET version  must open AGENT.m6 server window (by clicking on server icon displayed in windows tray).

To load a backup copy go to File->Load database backup copy. If you are using NET version go to AGENT.m6 server window.

In order to increase safety of data stored in AGENT.m6 program you can assign passwords to all users of AGENT.m6 - you will be asked for login and password in LOGIN window which appears before the program starts.
